Facing challenges

The operating environment for mining machinery is extremely harsh, facing challenges such as impacts from ore, abrasion by mud and sand, and the rigors of cold climates. The previously used solvent-based coatings lacked sufficient hardness, were prone to scratches and rust, and took too long to dry, thereby disrupting production rhythms. Customers urgently need an environmentally friendly coating solution that is both highly wear-resistant and fast-drying.

Solution

We have customized a solution featuring “waterborne epoxy quick-drying primer plus waterborne polyurethane wear-resistant topcoat.” The quick-drying primer enables “wet-on-wet” application or short-interval recoating, significantly boosting production efficiency. The polyurethane topcoat boasts exceptional hardness and abrasion resistance, effectively shielding the coating from scratches caused by ore while maintaining long-lasting gloss.

Project outcomes

Production efficiency of the coating line has increased by 30%, and VOC emissions have been reduced by 85%. In on-site testing at mining sites, the equipment’s paint film integrity rate significantly exceeded that of competing products, markedly reducing equipment downtime for maintenance and earning high praise from end users.
